The second outing from Lisbon based Percebes Música comes from Ka§par, a respected portuguese author who consistently releases remarkable productions on many revered deeper dance music imprints.

The "Epicurismo" EP is a fresh and well humored record, conceived as an homage to the greek philosopher Epicurus, who widely professed a personal mantra for happiness and the righteous pursuit of pleasure.

The first track is "Brand New Meaning", a moody deep house number featuring huge live drums, oblique chords and a discrete acid line (evocative of tracks by artists like Soulphiction, Move D or Rick Wade). It's paired with "Jacksteppa", a throwback to the days of hardcore jungle breaks and a modern floor filler, with signature eerie chords and smart urban vocals. It's a hint at the music of Smith & Mighty, early Fabio & Grooverider or E-Dancer, put into a new context.

On the flipside, "Got Connected", takes upbeat euphoric disco on an acid trip with epic results, comparable to productions by the likes of Paperclip People, Gene Farris or Boo Williams; while the second track "T2P" is a bleep driven rave anthem, drawing inspiration from New Beat and EBM, evocative of a dark, sweaty atmosphere, paired with old school hip-house undertones.

The Epicurismo EP is as utilitarian as it is eclectic. Boasting a clever sense of zeitgeist, these are four huge, well-crafted sonic explorations that are both made for peak time victory and emergency rescue, alike. Percebes Música's second release: it's the finest floor pressure!
