After a stunning remix last year we wanted to see what really makes Bassi tick...
You'll quickly hear why we love his sound - quality afro tinged deep house with more than a nod to our good ol African
continent.
A busy DJ in Switzerland that can be found playing all over the lush French surrounds, bringing some much needed soul
to the masses.
Nicolas also heads up the excellent BCH Recordings and often supplies remixes for other like minded labels such as
Daddy Funk, Soulheat & Mutated Music.
"Nalingi Yo" kicks off proceedings with bumpy afro beats, purring bass & soulful keys.
An affectionate African vocal tempts whilst smoky brass adds to the movement.
An instrumental version is provided too.
Second track is a heads down deep-tech charmer.
Simple but devastating "Everything Flows" shows off another side to Bassi's production skills.
Instantly original with a nagging lead line that pushes against the grainy percussion.
Hypnotising, playful and just a little bit sinister.
We absolutely love this EP and are busy with a serious remix pack penned in for later this year.
