In-form DJ, producer Ritz is back at Piston Recordings with another triple slice of deep house goodness on his Still Remember EP. This one follows the superb Edinburgh 1998 EP from the start of 2020 and is proving to be another gem as we’ve come to expect. After a bumper 2019, Ritz is ready to go at it once again. He continues to be stalwart for us, churning out quality productions at every turn. This one marks his 19th full release on Piston and we can safely say you’re in for another treat. Always a pleasure to have Ricardo here and no doubt we’ll be seeing much more from him.

Still Remember opens with a groovy breaks pattern as warm pads fade up. A beautifully rich deep house vibe comes through alongside a very dancey rhythm that forces you to move. As the percussions layer up, a stuttering, plucky bassline adds energy to the track and takes us to the break where the pads take over and a distinctly nostalgic groove takes over. After the pads lure us in, the bassline is joined by creative percussions and a solid 4x4 beat that just oozes classic house music. A stomper for sure and not to be missed.

As the title of the next track suggests, Mercury sets the temperature rising with a super smooth breakbeat drum arrangement that dishes out sophisticated rhythms alongside intricate percussion patterns. An analogue style bass is joined by subtle 303 shots and a swirling pad that creates a spacey vibe throughout. Bright keys add a melodic touch as the track shifts between 4x4 beats and those infectious breaks. Top-notch stuff and a must have.

Let's Do It opens with a nice and chunky kick drum and crispy hat combo. A bass level arpeggio comes through, modulating, filtering, creating a hypnotic groove to latch on to. A spooky kinda vocal whispers spoken word as surreal pads fade up in the distance. The track takes us higher and higher with a cosmic vibe that captivates. A proper, deep, grooving cut that will be a welcome addition to the discerning late-night clubber.
