Our House is thrilled to welcome the legend of Ray Okpara, who makes his debut on the label with "Jazzy Sticks". The release consists of two originals by the Mannheim veteran and a superb remix by LORAN.
The opener "Jazzy Sticks" contains all the elements of Ray's legendary trademark groove: from tribal percussion to dry groove elements to funky riffs, this one is a hell of a house track. Furthermore, Ray adds, as the title suggests some lovely jazzy guitar chops, adding an extra dose of freshness to the track.
Up next we have the LORAN's remix, who's back on the label after his "Story" EP last year. On his version of "Jazzy Stick", a raw 909 groove slowly prepares us for the arrival of an overpowering bassline, which is immediately followed by a dirty lead synth. As the track evolves, delayed vocal chops are joined by spacious synths, letting the dancefloor breath for a moment until the groove kicks in again.
Rounding off the package is the trippy and stripped-back "Tanger Dream". The track draws inspiration from the German electronic pioneers, and it's with splashes of electro fuzzy sounds and funky delayed chords while maintaining an eye on the 4/4 beat.
