Dark, atmospheric soundscape…
El Ghoul's third release sees the producer continuing to venture into dark waters whilst taking a side step away from the frantic techno rhythms that defined previous releases.
Written and recorded in the first few days of 2020, There Is More Blood Than Love Here is made from old tape samples, weighty drums and a collection of temperamental analogue instruments. It’s the sound of a malfunctioning mind gradually repairing itself.
About El Ghoul:
Born on the Isle of Skye off Scotland’s west coast, El Ghoul makes music with a handful of analogue synths and a sampler. Tracks are often built around extended live performances and found sounds.
He’s had support and praise for previous releases with his debut track The View From Here featuring heavily on BBC Radio 6 Music, picking up support from Tom Ravenscroft, Stuart Maconie’s Freak Zone (Aphex Twin special) and 6 Music Recommends.
El Ghoul’s second single, Nightmare 3000, picked up plays from Nemone’s Electric Ladyland, Vic Galloway, Optimo and Macedonia’s Kanal 103 among others.
This latest release, There Is More Blood Than Love Here, is released Friday 13th of March on Paradise Palms Records and available as original full length and radio edits. Distributed digitally by EPM and mastered by the lovely Sam at Green Door Studios.
