STEP033 | 2020-03-02
Sidetrak welcome four brand new FMM (Finish more music) artists to our ever-growing family with this debut EP primed and ready for the dancefloor.
For those that do not know, FMM is the musical genius of Keith Mills who runs the 'Finish More Music' masterclasses which have seen artists release on Hot Trax / Hot Creations / Over Records and many more.

On this start of a run of EPs, four producers showcase their skills!

First up is Emlyn BPM with Bap Boo:

Brought up in South Wales, UK, on a musical diet of Elvis Presley, Chuck Berry and Michael Jackson, there was always music in the House. When old enough to develop his own musical taste, Emlyn spent his early teenage years with his ears on the radio listening to the likes of Run DMC and Beastie Boys.
In the early 90's Emlyn discovered House Music!! Travelling through the UK and Europe chasing the music of Sasha & Digweed, Steve Lawler, Yousef and Paul Van Dyke, club night favourites included Chuf Chuf, Dakota, Miss Moneypennies, Fabric and The Cross.
Naturally, he purchased a pair of 1210s, then every spare minute was spent trawling through record shops in Covent Garden and Soho looking for that dark, underground house beat. Favourite record labels of the 90's being Bedrock, Pryda, Renaissance, Platypus, Whoop, FFrr, Subliminal, Yoshi Toshi to name a few. All these industry titans were pulled out the record bag at House parties in London and Wales.
In the 2000's Emlyn made Australia his home, continuing to collect vinyl, playing radio sets in Melbourne and the Gold Coast. In 2009 he wanted to make his own music as well as buy it. His sound is House, Tech House and Progressive, depending on his mood and inspiration.

The second artist we have is Pegasvs with Mojo:

Label boss of Burnin Music Recordings, Pegasvs is a DJ by heart.
After 10 years of playing records for the people and well established in the Paris underground music scene, he decided to leave France for London (2014), start his own imprint (2017) and use it to release his own music.
After putting out three EPs by fellow music producers his first EP 'Drinking With My Eyes' came out in 2019.
Support from Riva Starr, Joyce Muniz or Shadow Child to name a few, showed he had a confident handle on the classic House Music style!
As 2020 is just starting, more new music is to be expected!

Third Artist is Sean Harvey with Ventured:

Sean Harvey is a UK based Producer, DJ & Designer.
Experienced on both sides of the turntables, Sean has been gracing club and festival dance floors since the late 80's and early 90's, from legendary clubs such as Astoria, Milk bar, Cream and Amnesia to the Old terrace of Space Ibiza and Full moon parties of Thailand and Goa.
Aside from DJing at many parties and nights along the way, Sean ran his own Raise events around central London for several years to a loyal and enthusiastic crowd before turning his hand to music production.
His current sound plays with darker bassline driven Techno grooves infused with melodic elements to deeper Progressive tunes but always with the dancefloor in mind. His last release 'Instigate' made the 'top 10 new Tech House releases' with support from DJs Paco Osuna, Graham Gold and Roger That amongst others. Two more releases Rockstock and Overzone are due out in January 2020.
Sean, is now excited to release on Sidetrak. He says 'to have the opportunity to release on such an awesome label as Sidetrak is amazing. Just looking at the other tracks on the label, speaks volumes about the high standards it has set!'
Sean joins Sidetrak with his latest track Ventured, a Techno groover with relentless Acid-tinged synths pulsing through a rolling baseline-listen out for the trippy breakdowns.
Inspired by artists such as Kollektiv, Turmstraue and Extrawelt, his vision is to engage crowds with his music, and to join the global list of respected producers that continue to move club and festival crowds.

Fourth Artist is Neomonic with Take It Up:

Music has long been a part of Neomonic's life, whatever the style or genre, both listening or creating. It's the quality of the music and the emotions it creates that define its importance. An eclectic history means a broad range of influences, from Kraftwerk to Kolsch. The creative side of dance music has gradually gained momentum over the last 10 years as the technology has made the means more accessible, culminating in a period of sustained creativity and drive over the last two years. Whilst beat, bass and groove are the essential elements, Neomonlc always strives to incorporate a quirky slant or edge to his music.
'Take It Up' draws strongly on the Influence of Tech House talents such as Fisher and Dom Dolla. The track takes much more of a shift to the pure Tech House sound from Neomonics previous work. With the strong groove at the heart of the track, it tries to draw additional groove from the lyric. It tries to capture the mood of the genre and the emotion of letting go and escaping an increasingly mad world!
