August 2017 saw James Monro deliver a magnum opus with his very personal and inventive album "In the Ether." As Yin and Yang return to the body of work, the bass-laden "Voyager" now receives remixes from Dutch and Polish stars.
Oscar van der Knaap has been a stalwart of the underground dance scene for over a decade with his innovative and intricate brand of electronic music. Under his Exoplanet moniker, the Dutch artist has amassed almost 300 production credits for some of the finest modern imprints including Balkan Connection, Stellar Fountain and Lowbit. Moreover, a century of these credits has appeared on Proton Music and Particles including the extraordinary 2011 album "Nothing Divides Us Here." Multiple appearances on Yin and Yang have seen his work remixed by a collection of impressive artists, while Exoplanet now makes his Yang debut taking on remix duties himself.
Using trademark poise and grace, a glorious canopy of sound cascades across the mid-range in the form of a flowing central motif rich in reverb and delay. Developing themes from Monro's original mix, textured pads add depth and space while a grooved bassline and ticking percussive rhythm add club-friendly dynamism to a work of sonic art.
