Oscar Mulero’s PoleGroup presents the sixth opus of their CD mix series with 22 unreleased tracks entitled ‘Unknown Landscapes Vol 6’: selected and mixed by Soma regular Lewis Fautzi.
Whether exploring dancefloor oriented techno, hypnotising ambient or warped experimental, Lewis Fautzi continues to demand respect as a producer since debuting back in 2012. The Portuguese producer has dropped two albums on Soma and another on PoleGroup, not to mention a slew of appearances on respected labels like Figure, Bpitch and Warm Up Recordings. Meanwhile, as a performer and live act the artist has entertained crowds at venues such as Berghain, Tresor, Gare Porto and Lux Frágil, amongst many others.
His induction into the respected ‘Unknown Landscapes’ series is further validation of his ability to craft a musical narrative whilst also featuring many of PoleGroup’s finest affiliated artists. Volume 6 includes outstanding techno tracks from PoleGroup’s Reeko, Exium and Oscar Mulero – who collaborated as Selección Natural on the label’s milestone 50th release earlier this year - contributions from Bas Mooy, Kwartz, P.E.A.R.L., Shifted, Refracted, Svreca and Wrong Assessment, not to mention Lewis himself.
Spanning 76 minutes, Fautzi’s flare for seamlessly mixing quality techno is evident from start to finish. Minimalist tracks such as Refracted’s atmospheric ‘Particle Zoo’ and Shifted’s intricate ‘Untitled’ roll impeccably into robust cuts like Reeko’s rattling ‘Gate H01’, Kwartz’s twisted ‘Induced Paralysis’ and the ominous ‘Complex Dimension’ by label boss Oscar Mulero – until the mix concludes with the mesmerising and gritty ‘In Mist’ by Adriana Lopez.
Lewis Fautzi ‘Unknown Landscapes Vol.6’ drops on PoleGroup on 16th November 2018.
