Steve Silk Hurley House Revival Pt 1 and 2 (13:36)
S&S Records, Inc. (and S&S Chicago, Inc.) was established by 4-time GRAMMY® nominated producer and House Music pioneer Steve "Silk" Hurley and global DJ/Producer Shannon "DJ Skip" Syas. Silk and Skip merged Hurley's worldwide commercial success and Syas' strong global following to form S&S Records. S&S Records has accumulated a catalog of new and classic hit records from global artists all over.

S&S is now presenting a collection of digitally remastered original versions of classic tunes, hand-picked from Hurley’s Silk Entertainment label. The full collection will include the releases of all 4 Silk labels, including ID Records, DJ World Records, and of course, Silk Entertainment Records, which has releases spanning all 4 decades.

Best of Silk Entertainment, Vol. 2 is the second in a series of compilations featuring music released under the second Silk Entertainment imprint, including a host of GRAMMY® winning and nominated remix artists such as: Mousse T, E-Smoove, Maurice Joshua, and Steve “Silk” Hurley himself.

Gems included are the full-length version of “Higher,” a Gospel House Anthem featuring Vernessa Mitchell along with the award-winning Ricky Dillard and his choir, New G., plus E-Smoove and Silk’s “Runnin’ Away” featuring the timeless vocals of Sharon Pass. Also featured are: GRAMMY® winning remixer Maurice Joshua’s soulful version of the Silk and CeCe Peniston Gospel-House collaboration “Nobody Else”, the Stacy Kidd Remixes of Silk’s “Jack Your Body” and “Glow Of Love” by Hurley and Greg Gibbs, plus the Steve “Silk” Hurley Anthem mix of DJ Kelly G’s “Go Down Moses (with vocals from Sharon Pass). Additionally, you will find the Paul Johnson remix of the classic “He Loves Me 2”, the Mousse T “4 The Heads Remix of Hurley’s hit with Sharon Pass, “The Word is Love,” and the Instrumental Silk House Remix of the 2 Live Crew’s “Stop Playin.’”

As if that wasn’t enough, the presence of the golden voice of Gordon Chambers on “Don’t Give Up” serves as an unexpected bonus on this album. Chambers has written songs for more than 75 recording artists including Angie Stone, Yolanda Adams, The Isley Brothers, Brandy, Trey Songz, Chaka Khan, Patti Labelle, Usher, Marc Anthony, Jamie Foxx, Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, and Beyoncé Knowles. His number-1 hits as lyricist include Anita Baker's GRAMMY® winning hit "I Apologize", Brownstone's GRAMMY® nominated hit "If You Love Me", Angie Stone's "No More Rain (In This Cloud)", the GRAMMY® nominated theme of 1996's Set It Off "Missing You" (performed by Brandy, Tamia, Gladys Knight, and Chaka Khan) and Yolanda Adams "Someone Watching Over You". He is the winner of eight awards from the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP), has four Dove Award nominations, and his songs have been nominated for three GRAMMY® Awards. Anita Baker won a Grammy for "I Apologize,” which Chambers wrote.

With a lineup like this, you are bound to find many hidden treasures on this second of several remastered collections from Silk Entertainment under the S&S Chicago umbrella!
