Allan McLoud aka Scottish DJ and producer Allan Michie debuts on Bonzai Progressive with the tantalising progressive grooves of his two track, Reset EP. From a very young age Allan was listening to music, playing different instruments and ripping guitar amps apart to find out how they work. In the late 80's he started to DJ and produce Jazz influenced Hip-Hop using a Commodore C64 and Amiga 500 with self-built interfaces, but soon found his love for electronic music after becoming captivated with the sounds of 80’s synth music. He started out making breakbeat before finding the fledgling acid sound and finally finding his passion producing trance, which was influenced by the Dorian Gray sound of the time. He then started DJing in Clubs in North Germany making a name for himself and then deciding to move to the Stuttgart area where he started doing studio work for Unsubmissive Records. Throughout the years after, he released a plethora of music on several labels which were championed the world’s top jocks. Over the past several years he’s been collecting and repairing old analogue synthesizers and rebuilding his studio where he has a new mission to create more outstanding music for our listening pleasure. Great to him here at Bonzai and we hope to hear more in the future.

Reset is a dark, brooding progressive mover. With a powerful, chugging momentum, layers of percussions build to provide a solid rhythmic flow as mesmerizing arpeggios fade in. Those dark bass stabs take point in the groove, reeling us in deeper and deeper. On the break we’re taken on a more serene route which contrasts beautifully the darker elements. Haunting and emotive, the groove builds back up to take us into the final stretch. A memorable slice and a perfect set builder.

Make It Possible delivers a straight up groover complete with a tight drum section and powerful rolling bassline. The track conjures up images of a darkened room with the speakers blasting out that infectious, droning bassline. Brighter, more melodic sequences come through to enlighten the groove, adding a rich dynamic to the sound. The break is awash with wistful pads and that lead us back into full-on mode for the duration. A superb cut that will not disappoint.
