Just Breathe marks the label debut of Monsieur Wolfgang, a French-Canadian techno producer with deep ties to the francophone independent music scene as both a DJ and performer under various aliases.

The EP serves to firmly establish and introduce Monsieur Wolfgang's brand of individualistic and left-field melodic techno with two club-ready offerings.

The title track 'Just Breathe' uses the gradual sound layering style of 'prog' genres to fuel its gritty, synth-driven techno soundscape. A crisp snare, reverberating kick, and a subtle bassline set the mood at the start of the track before fading out into an instrumental breakdown of arpeggios. The beat then drops back in as the notes from the arpeggios continue to warp in and out in sequence, creating an engrossing atmosphere.

With its commanding horns and frenzied kick drums, 'Orbit' is another 'prog'-styled track designed for stages with big ambitions. Another early instrumental breakdown introduces the dominant melody of the track before a wave of unrelenting percussion and minimalist, single-note melodies take over. It's a nod to the genre's classic form that longtime fans are sure to recognize.

Although Monsieur Wolfgang is a new alias, the experience of the producer behind it echoes through Just Breathe's seamless fusion of melody and intensity.
