To be honest, The Bearded Man isn’t quite sure how the world got so serious. Somewhere over the thousands of years he’s spent with humanity, things just shifted dramatically. He’s never been one for nostalgia, but if he’s honest, things were a lot simpler not long ago. People worked to live instead of the other way around, as they say. As someone who witnessed the birth of not only currency but also fractional reserve banking, The Bearded Man has seen humor all but disappear from our daily lives. The best feeling in the world for him is making someone else smile. Making someone else laugh. That and his unkempt beard give people the impression that our hero is a “joker” or “not serious”, but nothing could be farther from the truth. Smiling and laughing might just be the most serious thing we can do in our whole lives.
