Oddity Records

Fur Coat’s Oddity imprint has been steadily amassing a strong catalogue of releases and their third offering of the year is no exception. Afterlife affiliate & previous Oddity contributor Black Peters follows his inclusion in the Odd Echoes VA with a full EP on the label... “Renaissance Diner”.

New York-via-Berlin DJ and producer Tom Peters, aka Black Peters, has been crafting his sound over the past few years and forging his name as a rising techno figure through releases and remixes on Tale of Us’ Afterlife Records, Pan Pot’s Second State and DJ Hell’s International Dejaay Gigolo imprint.

Opening the package is the title track, an expansive piece characterised by looping tribal drums and a complex developing synth pattern, ideal for creating anthemic moments. Following this is a remix by another Oddity contributor... Øostil step up with a more up-tempo edition whilst still tapping into the large scale feel of the original.

Next up is the second original of the EP. “Irreversible” is a deep and driving club track, accented throughout with striking chime patterns, producing a spaced out club tool. Dovetailing the original is a remix by Antonio Ruscito... the Italian native puts forward his version opting for layered strings to build added tension.

Concluding the package is “Sirens”, the third original from Black Peters. Once again showcasing his trademark deep, hypnotic groove, the track unfolds in time to develop a spacious atmosphere.
