Aftertech Records forty-second release
'The Conquest' is the forty-second release on Aftertech Records, this time by the Dutch Arp Legend, QuiQui. On this EP you will find yourself in a wonderful journey through powerful melodic techno tracks with great additional remixes by Bessiff and Footprint.
The title track 'The Conquest' starts with a mesmerizing arpeggio right at the beginning. It doesn't take long before a strong brass is introduced which works in perfect harmony with a growling bassline. While they melt together the melody starts to unfold, telling the story which is the Conquest. A wonderful piece of art by QuiQui, what a way to make his debut to Aftertech Records!
'The Request' is not one to mess around with. It starts out strong, dark and ominous. Rumbling basslines, deep dark synths that set the rhythm and sinister echoing noises fill the air. Then a melody arises to glue it all together. While it brings you further into the track it all comes to a massive breakdown where QuiQui makes you drift away in an amazing tension building break only to let the track come back stronger than ever before. What a trip!
Bessiff is the first artist who is on remix duties. He works on the wonderful arpeggio skills of QuiQui while adding an extra layer on top which makes it even more spacy than it already was. The groove is simple yet compelling and takes you towards a powerful play of synthwork, which will destroy many dancefloors for sure! What an epic remix by Bessiff!
The remix of Footprint is something else entirely. He lets the ground tremble with his massive bassline and starts with a build-up that will make people lose their minds once it reaches the climax. Instead of following up on the power he suggests in the build-up, he creates a wonderful space to get lost in, before the actual drop which does the real damage. In this remix, smartly placed percussions, deep trembling basslines and mesmerizing synth-work are key. One hell of a track to dance to in the late hours!
