Hall North

A Rec
AREC37 | 2019-05-31
Hall North returns to A REC with another mood driven masterwork and a slight Hindu theme.

Notably described as "One of the UK's hottest producers (former IDJ Editor Russell)" Hall North is consistently building a presence and following for his unique melodic music.

He originally rose to notoriety after his remix of Harvey Mckay's '69' which was released on Soma in October 2010. Since then he has gone on to remix the likes of Chris Fortier, Andry Nalin (Nalin & Kane), SAYTEK (Cubism) and release original material on Wiggle Records, Glue Music, Tulipa Records, top charting on Pro B Tech and the prior no:1 "Nostra Dame" with us on A Rec.

Support on his tracks has come from the likes of Carl Cox, Hot Since 82, Maya Jane Coles, Claude von Stroke, John Digweed, X Press 2 and Paul Oakenfold among others and his DJ sets have featured on Lucidflow and UM Podcasts as well as Ibiza Sonica, Innervisions radio as well as on his own fortnightly 'Hall North House' show on Brap FM.

First on this three tracker is the title track – Gopala. In contrast to the standard 4/4 rhythmic progressive grooved tracks – Gopala takes a much more artistic and a melodic approach. Its very mood driven, deep in thought with hypnotic qualities that really pull you in.

Ghost In The Machine – is more 4/4 driven with a crossbred of Deeper House, to Progressive influences that comprise the "Hall North" signature sound. It's carried very well with percussive elements and intriguingly switches momentum between the club domain as well as a more listening experience.

Subterfuge – further compounds this EP with transient qualities and deep seductive feel. Another detailed affair, cool delayed rhythms, dreamscape infectious atmosphere and tecky overtones.
