Ananda Project, signed to King Street’s sister label Nite Grooves, is on the rise, especially after having been nominated as the Best Album of the Year 2000 by L.A.’s BPM Culture Magazine (January 2001). Their critically acclaimed album “Release” has been signed to :VC Recordings (a subsidiary label of Virgin) in the UK. Since its “release”, all of the singles from the 12-song album have been exclusively licensed to territories worldwide, including Japan, Spain, Portugal, the UK, Canada, France and South Africa. The band’s producer Chris Brann enjoyed much past success with Strictly Rhythm’s Wamdue Project, who’s single “King of My Castle” went Gold in the UK. Subsequently they’ve garnered much press in the US, Europe, and in Japan with his post-Wamdue projects, Nite Grooves’ Ananda Project, and Ubiquity’s P’Taah. Now Chris Brann, the producer and band member, is making waves with this new ventures, having his music featured on groundbreaking cable programs such as Sex And The City (HBO), Undressed (MTV), and Queer As Folk (Showtime). Their new album, “Re-Release”, is a masterfully remixed version of their debut album by world-renowned artists such as Li’l Louie Vega, Joaquin “Joe” Claussell, King Britt, Kyoto Jazz Massive, Blaze, Timewriter and Blue Mar Ten, to name a few. ANANDA PROJECT “Release” is produced and arranged by CHRIS BRANN for WAMDUE MUSICPRODUKTIONS. Written by CHRIS BRANN, TERRANCE DOWNS, HEATHER JOHNSON, GAELLE ADISSON, and JUSTIN CHAPMAN. Featuring vocals by TERRANCE DOWNS, GAELLE ADDISON, HEATHER JOHNSON, KIMA MOORE, and JUSTIN CHAPMAN. Bass by ASEEN and guitar by EDE WRIGHT. Percussion by KIMA MOORE, EDE WRIGHT, and GENOA MUNGIN.
