Originally released under the artist name Kathy Wood in 1996, ‘Give Me Joy’ went on to become a bonafide club hit and a staple in the sets of many discerning DJs and was first championed by a certain Louie Vega at 'The Magic Session' at the Miami WMC. Produced by Booker T and B.B. Stone and vocalled by Katherine Ellis , ‘Give Me Joy’ remains an integral discography of all involved. Sure to spark nostalgia among those who remember it first time round and destined to introduce the record to a whole new audience to the record, ‘Give Me Joy’ now comes remixed and ready for 2013 with a crop of well executed remixes. Up first Neil Pierce and Ziggy Funk under their Rhemi moniker, provide a classy deep house interpretation that showcases the vocal in all its glory, whilst label boss and original co-producer of the record, Booker T turns in his ‘Kings Of Soul Vocal’ that retains the essence of the original whilst putting a current spin on production. House legend Matt Jam Lamont provides a tougher house interpretation and Sweetergroove ramp the energy up with an organ laced remix aimed squarely at the dance floor. Rounding off the release, AudioRehab boss and Rinse FM DJ Mark Radford provides a metallic tinged, big room take on ‘Give Me Joy’.
