Nigel Hayes is probably best known for his collaboration with Funk D'Void as Chaser, but as Lunar Life demonstrates, his solo work is just as impressive. Issued on Astrolife label, it sees the UK producer move from the cinematic ambience of "Lunar Life (Pt 1)" into sleek, pulsating deep techno grooves such as "Spacedust" as well as embracing more tracky club grooves like the throbbing bass-led "That Was Then". However, as tracks like the jazzy, double bass-and sax-sampling "Double Dip" and the evocative "Message From Mars" both demonstrate, Hayes true calling is deep, musical house music.
