Rubba J

Tonality
TNA022 | 2011-09-12
During the old school hiphop years Rubba J started experimenting with a little drum machine and his guitar with two tapedecks in search for the funk groove. In the mid nineties he hooked up with some fellow-friend musicians and started a reggae-funk band called Fever. Together with Marius (DJ & producer on Wallys Groove World), he formed the deep house formation called Deepwater. Later on Rubba J got together with two old friends from Fever- Bernd & Wouter, and formed Trio Delicado which was laden with pulsating percussion, drums and funky vibes. Together with Koenie & Marius, under the name Mayaku, Rubba J explored a new horizon of house music. And finally in early 2001, he made his first solo debut, a mix of all influences together under the name Rubba J. On remix duty we Introduce Ksky to the Tonality family and his remix of Intercity Movin is a fantastic slice of modern house music. Ksky draws his influences from kerri Chandler, Jimpster, Kenny Dope and you can hear it in his take don deep house, solid crisp production with great added instrumentation.
