The next artist to grace us with an EP on Roushlabel is the delightfully talented Davina Moss with her ‘Like A Lion’ release. Davina has been one of the leading ladies of Tech House for a considerable amount of time now, after a strong 2018 she is back swinging for the fences in 2019 with two huge original tracks. ‘Like A Lion’ opens the release with a buffed up persona, a strong choice for peak time grooves and loaded with bags of energy. Shuffled rhythm and robust drum work sit aloft a boisterous, groovy sub. The transitional segments of the track are melted into melody and then driven up through increasing energy with the aid of crystal clear risers and snare rolls, accompanied by a subtle level of vocal presence and delivering hard-hitting drops back into the main body of the mix. ‘Until I Play’ is the second and final tack on the EP. It runs a more stripped-back, yet pacey and underground line in comparison to its predecessor. Built with less punch in the drums but a wobbly, hysterical sub-line that commands all of your attention from the word go. Another high-energy track, laced with acid influence and outlandish vocal sampling, full of individuality and ready to turn some serious shapes on any dancefloor.
