Omegain (The Wash Remix)

Blue Cell

Yin
YIN103 | 2019-03-18
Originally released on the evergreen Stellar Fountain in November 2016, Blue Cell created a stir with "Omegain" including remixes from Ewan Rill and Monojoke. Now returning to the track, Yin and Yang provide new interpretations courtesy of The Wash and Soulkeys.

A new artist on the underground dance map, The Wash just won Quivver's "8 Bit Eclipse" remix competition and is guaranteed a future release on Controlled Substance. The Austrian producer now serves up an impressive debut that captures the essence of Blue Cell's original. The DJ with over a decade's experience in Vienna joins Yin after 2018 releases on Ken Hayakawa's Schoenbrunner Perlen.

His remix sees a chunky pounding rhythm form the backbone for a series of shimmering melodic components to emerge. Building hypnotically, a grooved riff locks tightly against the percussive top-line as pads and textured components of the original create a sense of familiarity alongside a shimmering arpeggio section. Converging at its mid-point, the second half continues the rich aural collage set up earlier in the track to mesmerizing and dramatic effect.
