An artist making his original EP debut on Particles, Anton MAKe thrills with the twin-track, "Aquamarine".

Hailing from the historic city of Kazan with its thousand-year history stretching back to shortly after the first millennium, Anton MAKe has forged his own history through a wide and varied musical production career. Making a debut DJ performance aged 14 at the "Urban Sound Festival", he has gone on to feature regularly at the famous "DJ Arena" club from 2007 onwards.

A production career followed by the end of the decade as Anton began to see his creations reach a wider audience with a commercial debut on Michael and Levan and Stiven Rivic's Mistique Music in June 2012. He then went on to feature heavily on OLD SQL later that year, not least with his impressive "Sunset EP". A regular contributor to a host of leading underground labels since then, Anton has found a place on the catalogues of Balkan Connection, Suffused Music and Stellar Fountain as his portfolio has grown to almost a double century of production credits. A further, notable highlight came in the shape of the three-track "Maja Nova" EP for Cid Inc.'s Replug in August 2016 followed by a further appearance on the "Defined 02" compilation in August 2018 as Anton's stock continued to rise.

Making his debut on Particles in April 2017, a collaborative remix alongside Shamil OM remixing Robin Thurston's "Cura Brocchero", was an impressive debut as we now welcome back Anton MAKe with "Aquamarine". The title track is full of the layered melodic themes that have become a staple of the Russian producer's sound as a hypnotic percussive groove ripples across a seven-minute track combined with a haunting glissando riff. Building in intensity throughout with additional percussion and gated, auto-panned white-noise effects that reach their zenith at the mid-point, the second half evolves into a dynamic offering as groove and melody combine to impressive effect.

Partner track, "Assai" revels in a deep bass pattern allied to strong beat and off-beat snare. Before long, 808-style claps emerge alongside a subtle syncopated chord that adds to the growing rhythmic prowess. Richly textured chords and the same flowing freeform lines of its predecessor soon make their presence felt, reaching their delayed and distorted denouement at the breakdown. Erupting into a strong floor-filler in the second half, the evolution of driving rhythm and intricate melodic phrasing adds a strong sense of energy to the track.

Weaving a rich tapestry with his colourful music, Anton MAKe has found a rich lustre with "Aquamarine".
