Bunte Kuh
BK004 | 2019-01-11
Bunte Kuh kicks off the new year with a fantastic nine track compilation. It shows off the label’s broad and brilliant array of styles, and features names like Thom Nagy, Aquarius Heaven, Trinidad, Jean Caillou, Debal Sommer, Schlepp Geist and many more.

Based in Basel, Switzerland since 2016, this label has established itself with an innovative Tech-house sound from core artists like Kuriose Naturale, Debal Sommer, Thom Nagy, Sascha Stohler & Pan and more, with a rotating cast of guests helping to embellish its output.

This compilation is an essential one that kicks off with Debal’s Ongg, a deep, spine tingling house track with lush chords and melodies. Roman Blum & Beni Jackson- Lemuren Bart is a more minimal affair, with inventive rhythms coming from rich sound design. It’s a curious number with a spooky feel that is locked into a a mid tempo groove. Thom Nagy then offers beautiful house with majestic keys and chords getting you into a thoughtful mode and Schlepp Geist picks up the pace with a warm track that has smeared chords and prickly percussion, all designed to get cosy floors moving.

Aquarius Heaven X Joris Biesmans - ‘Big Belly Mama’ is another colourful house track with slippery drums keeping you busy as cosmic chords extend out into the night sky. Rapped vocals bring real attitude to this anthem in the making. Elsewhere Jean Caillou keeps things organic with his loose percussive and melodic house track, Matija vs Richard Elcox serve up an intimate piece with curious sounds and a beguiling atmosphere. Trinidad and Naútes then shut things down with two more pieces of emotional house that ooze real class.

This is a fine window into the wonderful musical world of Bunte Kuh.
