Hitting the Proton Music catalogues in April 2018 with the excellent "Memories" EP, Hot TuneiK reminded listeners of his considerable production talent. Already receiving remixes on Proton from Lanvary and Matter, Yin and Yang now revisit the title track with a pair of new interpretations.

Canadian duo Bryan Wolf Ear and Philip James de Vries are a relatively new production duo. Established artists in their own rights, Bryan is a renowned DJ in his Montreal hometown with performances alongside the likes of Booka Shade and Pole Folder. As head honcho of the impressive Strange Town Recordings, the Canadian has overseen a plethora of impressive releases from a growing A-list roster. A talented musician, Philip James de Vries has found himself allied to a host of well-known underground imprints with his combination of "live instrumentation and electronic production." Featuring heavily on Wide Angle Recordings, an August 2012 debut has been followed by work for Traum, Fever and Strange Town. Indeed, the duo's debut collaboration saw them release their "Dreamcatcher" EP in May 2018 with a trio of remixes from Ewan Rill, Deeparture and rAin.

Now debuting on Yang, the Bryan Wolf Ear and Philip James de Vries remix of "Memories" is redolent in driving rhythms and hypnotic running bass lines. Taking the central key from the original, the duo have taken Hot TuneiK's elements and expanded upon them with a glorious array of new production material in arpeggio sequences and counterpoint melodic phrasing. The result is a joyous piece that is as innovative as it is impressive.
