The start of a brand-new musical adventure.

In 2008 Jimmy Ouwens started producing music during his military mission. For years he'd played at parties as a DJ. From the camp site at Solar festival to Paradiso in Amsterdam. Great times, but it was a lot of the same to him. He wanted to do something different that nobody else did. He thought: Orchestral sounds mixed with modern beats, how great would that be? Orchestras are full of musicians who can play so well. But the younger generation soon labels this music as 'old fashioned and dusty'. He just wanted to give it a modern twist. He got in touch to the Regimental Fanfare 'Garde Grenadiers en Jagers (RFGGJ)', a Military Music Corps from the Netherlands. He explained his ideas and plans, they were enthusiastic straight away. They now have made 8 music songs together. In addition, he uses the recordings from the Orchestra for his own music. On his laptop he made a beat with producer software. Jimmy is playing along with the orchestra during live performances, not on a specific instrument, but just behind his DJ Booth! He gets inspired from all kinds of music. It can be a 70's song, all kinds of dance music or military music. He plays parts of music on his piano to convert it digitally into synthesizer sound. The notes remain, but the sound changes. Music ensures emotions. When he notices that people like his music, it gives him such a nice feeling. 'That's what I like most. Of course, there are people who say: 'I do not need that modern dance music'. But that is the thing I like to change. If you do something new, people have to get used to it. It doesn't matter to me. I continue undiminished. '
