Born and raised in Cork and a proud Irishman, Wukah (Gavin Desmond) recently arrived on the scene of techno and is quickly putting his stamp on the genre. Wukah originally has a background in classical music and jazz, being a classically trained pianist, and has a long-standing affinity for cinema and film music, which often bleeds through his work in the world of electronic music. He produces around the genre of techno, branching off into deep tech, tech house and minimal, and his style can be best described as a combination of glitchy, buzzy minimal detail filled with analog warmth and scratchiness, retro synth pad sounds, and organic, tribal percussive beats. His influences in the techno genre include the likes of Christian Loffler, Ricardo Villalobos and Doyeq, to name a few. Other general artistic influences include Brian Eno (having a significant sideline in ambient music) and Vangelis (whose score to 'Blade Runner' can be heard in subtle reference in alot of his work). In his latest work, he has began to dip his toes in the waters of afro-techno with his latest released 'Akata' and '5 seconds'.
