Next up on ASTIR is an artist we've eagerly awaited. Signed back in May, this EP from London-based Talal is a work of sound design genius. Described by music press as having "vintage design profiles and a character rich sound" it will come as no surprise to hear that everyone from Adam Beyer, Maceo Plex and Sasha to Laurent Garnier, Petar Dundov and John Digweed have this guy on their radars.

'Astronaut In The Jungle' is quietly tribal. Sparse percussion so makes way for a cleverly constructed soundscape of muted pads and icy hooks drowned in emotion. 'Crystal' is pumping mid-set prog with highly original sonics keeping attention firmly on the dance floor. Finally, 'Turn On The Light' juxtaposes its Vangelis nostalgia against its edgy modern look at modern progressive house to deliver a punchy heavyweight showstopper.
