Cooper wrote ‘Nightflight’ with a set of rules in mind: always standing, always moving on quickly and never labouring longer than 10 minutes on a layer. He wanted to harness the energy of the bustling, heady streets above him and echo the drones and pace of the waves of sound emerging from the bars and clubs, as people travel in and out, sharing one ecosystem. He interweaves glitches and patterns with the ethereal sounds of his previous work, complimenting a prolific year and body of music that draws on nature, solitude, landscape and memory.
