East Project hit the final few months of the year with their 7th release of 2018 and it's a big one! Lead track on the EP comes from Abode resident Jimmy Switch and Fractured Sounds' very own Ben Straw, supported by 2 remixes taking their track Ancient Charm in 2 completely different directions, with a second original from Jimmy on the B side entitled "Railroad To Space". Tech house, deep tech, techno!
Introducing the "Jimmy Switch and Ben Straw – Ancient Charm EP" (EP029)
Lead single "Ancient Charm" is a hypnotic groove, layered with infectious sounds that twist and turn at every opportunity. Perfectly balanced with groovy techno rhythms and popping tech house beats, this track is full of energy that builds and drops throughout, taking you on a never-ending ride of ecstasy!
Following on from the label's biggest selling single to date, Matt Fear returns to the East Project stables with the first remix of Ancient Charm; delivering a deep tech vibe that is guaranteed to charm its way into all the big player's record boxes (pun intended). Slowing the pace down from the original, Matt produces a track built on an infectious groove and low-slung funk, that will have you looping the main breakdown and drop over and over again!
For the second remix, East Project's very own AandR man LA Sam strips back the original and builds a much darker and more industrial style beat that seems to build forever, before eventually bringing in the recognisable ancient charm sounds and crashing back down into its relentless rhythms. Expect to hear this dark dubby version on a big soundsystem near you soon.
Finally, to close out the EP, Jimmy serves up a full on tech house monster that is groovy, funky, pumping and pounding all rolled into one. Following an expected DJ friendly intro, "Railroad To Space" grabs the bull by the horns and doesn't let go.
