Pavement (LoQuai Remix)

Silinder

Yang
YANG097 | 2018-10-29
Originally part of the thematic "Corrupt" EP in September 2012, Silinder created a twin-track offering that highlighted the chasm between rich and poor that was a product of the 2007-2008 global financial crisis. The shockwaves ran through the Irishman's home country with tragic consequence and ongoing ramifications. As Yin and Yang now return to the ground-breaking track, remixes come courtesy of Colombian and German talents.

Konstantin Alt needs little in the way of introduction to the underground dance faithful. Operating under his LoQuai production pseudonym, the German artist has continually found himself at the pinnacle of the scene after a debut for Ultimate House Records in 2005. Some 1,100 production credits later, and the LoQuai name can be found allied to a plethora of high-calibre imprints that include Mistique Music, Bonzai Progressive and Balkan Connection. Further buoyed by the success of his "Unison" show on Frisky Radio, it's an honor to welcome LoQuai to Yang with a debut for the label.

Working his inimitable magic, the LoQuai remix is characterized by a strong rhythmic foundation and head-shaking clap that paves the way for a subterranean bassline to resonate across the low-end. Melodic phrases build in joyous fashions as they tease out refrains from Silinder's original, which come to life at the mid-point breakdown. Continuing to evolve into the third movement, the combination of rhythm and melody create a new path of enlightenment across "Pavement."
