Bouncer Dancing

Samuele Scelfo & Rulers

Roush Label
RSH107 | 2018-10-19
Emerging Italians Samuele Scelfo and Rulers make their debut appearance on Roush to open October with four fresh, collaborative productions in the form of their EP ‘Bouncer Dancing’. Based in Firenze, Italy, Samuele Scelfo has been building a notable following from some of the industries biggest names including Marco Carola, Paco Osuna and Davide Squillace over the past two years, releasing on labels such as Snatch! and Deeperfect in the process. Here he’s joined by fellow Italians and regular back to back partners Rulers, aka Andrea and Mattia Orizio, whose own releases on the likes of Moan, D-Floor Music and Lapsus have led to support from Loco Dice, Stefano Noferini and Leon, with ‘Bouncer Dancing’ marking the first ever collaboration from the three artists. ‘Bouncer Dancer’ opens proceedings as Scelfo and Rulers work skipping hats, warping sub tones and lively snare hits around infectious vocals, before ‘Get Down’ sees a switch up and a focus on swinging percussion patterns and stuttered hip-hip influenced vox samples. Next up, ‘Sexual Disorder’ utilises a well worked combination of twisting synths and metallic drum licks, whilst ‘Won Bets’ concludes the EP by stripping things back and initiating regimented and imposing drum loops, soulful vocals and sporadic bleeps and pops throughout.
Samuele Scelfo & Rulers ‘Bouncer Dancing’ is out on Roush on 2nd October 2018.
