The HouseKeepers EP is a chunky, rolling 4 track EP from Under No Illusion boss Ki Creighton & his regular studio pier Makanen. Between them they have chalked up releases on Toolroom, Roush Get Physical and most recently, their joint EP Lucid Dreams on Elrow Music has been polling thought the tech house charts.
Title track 'HouseKeepers' is a rolling journey of synth flicks, percussion hits & vocal twists. The chugging low end is controlled by a bumpy, off centre set of drums that the pair subtly layer as the intensity rises. The acid infused riff litters the breakdowns and the hypnotic vocal will be lapped up by dancefloors of any size.
Fresh off announcing an EP on Repopulate Mars and being snapped up by Underground Artists agency, Iglesias weighs in with a punchy up tempo rework. The chugging lows and a sizzling hi's set the tone early and a borderline funky bassline make this a serious peak time groover!
Nightfall from Ki & Makanen is a much darker B side to the title track. Modulated warped vocals & creepy synths take a choppy bassline through unexpected twists and turns in a track that screams afterparty.
Wrapping the EP up, The Boombox gives Nightfall a tough rework. With a stomping sub low end doesn't let up from the get go, in your face melodies and clever production flourishes control the intensity that will take dance-floors by surprise as it rises and falls.
