Berlin is a city unlike any other and it has gained a reputation as well as international recognition over the past years for its free-spirited and highly diverse cultural scene. Due in part to its constantly shifting identity, Berlin has proven to be a cradle for creativity and innovation as well as a fertile breeding ground for new artistic trends. For over a decade now, the Berlin Music Commission has endeavoured to take the city's flourishing music scene under its wing, organizing events, connecting key players and acting as a mediator towards local policy makers to ensure the industry's sustainability. This year, we are focusing even more consistently on a tonal variety, innovative approaches and progressive musical ideas that stand out from crowd-pleasing mainstream sounds by setting fresh impulses on nowadays' listening habits. Saying this, we're thrilled to present you the 11th edition of our "listen to berlin" compilation that comprises another unique selection of the city's most current, inspiring and distinctive sounds.
