Making his Piston Recordings debut we have the talented, Toulouse based DJ and producer Geoffroy Laventure with his Momentum EP. Starting out in the nineties, Geoffroy was inspired by top jocks including Jeff Mills, Laurent Garnier, Master At Work and more. With a little help from his brother Rom-1, Geoffroy got his first turntables and from here he worked on his techniques, honing his skills in the mix. This led him to play at various bars, clubs and festivals where he made a name for himself on the scene. Producing his own music soon followed and he has notched up a very impressive release count on several top labels worldwide. Great to have him here at Piston.

Sublime deep house is on offer with the fantastic Momentum which intros with a cool percussion arrangement and subtle vocal shots. A nice and punchy kick drum joins in alongside a chest pounding classic-style offset bassline. The groove shapes up nicely and will definitely get booty's on the floor. The break reveals a much warmer side to the track thanks to rich chords that mesmerize and blend beautifully with the more straight-laced drum and bassline combo. A top-notch cut that will not disappoint.

Haiku is a superbly crafted slice of pure deep house goodness. Taking its name from the unusual and intricate Japanese poetry form, we get a sense of that through the thick and chunky undulating bassline which wraps itself all over the groove. Tight drums generate a flowing rhythm while mesmerizing pads take over on the break. A definite floor filler for the clubs, not to be missed.
