For our next release of 2018, Ron Flatter returns to Motek with his second original EP. Following the success of his Youmai / No.2 release back in 2016, Deronada / Lemarnido brings a blend of melodic energy mixed with gritty driving tones. Deronada is set in a major key and provides an uplifting energy. A slow arpeggiating piano section highlights the production and provides the perfect end of set finish. Lemarnido is tougher and has a chugging feel through a 16th note staccato synth section. Suspense is added with a rising eerie synth pad and the track takes character through stripped back wooden textured beat sections. Remixing for this release we have Motek owner Navitas, label favourite Stevie R and new to the label the very exciting Marymoon. Stevie R has, as the remix title would suggest, used his Vermona DRM1 MKIII drum synth to base his remix around. As we have come accustomed to with Stevie, he has delivered a track full of interest and out of the mainstream vision through nine and a half minutes of atmospheric pallets, glitches and clicks. Navitas has darkened up Deronada with drive and sharpness in the bass sections. Added piano parts with a nod to the original provide highlights in a track full of subtle rise and fall through intensity and arrangement. Finally Marymoon has brought groove and punch to her take on Lemarnido. Keeping the same feel of the original with spacious and expertly arranged percussive parts, the remix takes on its own personality through softer and darker pad sections rising to high energy summits with arpeggiating synth play.
