Cheap Thrills
CHEAP239 | 2018-08-31
Cheap Thrills has always been a label that delves into a variety of genres to create releases that have defined the imprint as a trail blazer - one that pushes the envelope by drawing on inspiration from everywhere to create a mould that no other has used. And for a whole decade Cheap Thrills has done just that... and continues marching forwards along their very own path.

"Cell Phone", the work of label boss and man of many aliases Hervé, is another example of clean cut production, the composition of the original track is polished to the point of perfection, scattered with reggae, ska and garage influences that total what is bound to be yet another smash hit for the label.

The classics you expect of Cheap Thrills are all there - a juicy, bouncy bassline, the bleeps and blips, the catchy vocal and a build to a break that is guaranteed to make the dancefloor explode.

Remixes come from Tom Symonds, Tru Fonix and Wittyboy - each bringing their own individual styles to serve up the tasty optional extras on this stellar release. Tom injects a big dose of House with a deeper bassline that becomes the heartbeat of the track, Tru Fonix flavour their take with big fat dirty bassline that will sound better the darker, more underground the dancefloor lays and last but by no means least comes Wittyboy - his mix starts slowly building and complementing the track by focusing on the percussion before introducing an in-your-face, slap you in the shins, garage bassline that gives this release the ability to tick all the boxes - there is definitely something for everyone!

So, twist the dial on this first release from the forthcoming 10th anniversary compilation, punch in the number and listen to this mammoth single as it was crafted to be enjoyed - TURN. IT. UP.
