This new project by Lo Greco Bros, The Man With The Horn, comes from their passion for jazz and above all the figure of the great masters of the instrument prince of be bop and creative jazz, from the 60s up to our days: the trumpet!
Basically there is the very important experience experienced by the brothers Enzo and Gianni with one of the greatest geniuses in the history of jazz: the great trumpet player Chet Baker, who marked an important step in their careers. Then in the early 90s the meeting with the myth of the trumpet Miles Davis that with his charisma has transmitted a strong energy and an indelible imprint in the creativity and references of this project. To all this is added a strong influence of the North European jazz sounds typical of the ECM label with Tomasz Stanko, Kenny Wheeler, Enrico Rava etc ... A large baggage of experiences experienced through the beauty of the sound of the trumpet, an exciting and engaging magical sound in the compositions of this album. Over the years the collaborations with the trumpet players present in this project (Sebastian Studnitzky, Hendrickson Mena, Francesco Manzoni) have developed a concept of album open to multiple quartets to give different nuances and appropriate to varied interpretations with sensitive diversity. The title is naturally a reference and a tribute to a historical album by Miles Davis. Have a good trip.
