You might recognise him through some of his various projects like Turmspringer, RAS or Robert Galic. As part of the Berlin underground scene for the past 2 decades, people can clearly see his afro house, hip hop and nu-jazz influence on this great ep: You.
YOU is the 1st cut of the ep. The track has a hypnotic feel all around with clear stabs and chords that follow an endless conversation between each other, round fx, and a sharp hi hat. Later the ride uplifts the entire meaning of the song. The fat sub bass glues it all together in a marvelous way.
This can easily fit into a classic Berlin after hours making it memorable & epic.
On the other hand, LOS CABRA delivers an extremely interesting remix from YOU. This Argentinian duo (formed by Christ Burstein and Manuel Sahagun) received international attention after their releases on the BAR 25, RKJVK, and GOLDEN GATE. They imprint their afro vibe, a playful bass strung together with different textures. Some Moog sounds & percussion creates an incredible atmosphere offering an almost offbeat groove. It also offers spaced out vocal cuts that give this number a unique sound.
Last but not least, NYX! This is the moment that you should open the old cognac, put on that old red silk coat, and start enjoying. Every sound is where it should be: a soft pad, gentle cowbell, and pitched strings. This long stab shows the way to this intrepid track. The retro vibe is everywhere! NYX is one of those fine deep tracks that is rare to find. The percussion on top is light and kept under control.
