“Summertime” has been covered too many times to count, but in these numerous forms the song has created an indelible musical legacy.

Following on the release of their Under the Covers EP, David Marston and Brigitte Zozula decided to create their own version of the jazz classic. In this musical endeavor, they teamed up with trumpeter extraordinaire Aquiles Navarro and Jamaican bassist Frano.

Zozula’s sultry, jazz-infused vocals overlay an upbeat and dynamic instrumental brimming with buoyant trumpet riffs, distorted keys and a resonant bass line. The song is dance floor ready and undoubtedly captures the beauty, chaos, and excitement of a New York summer.
