REAL PURPLE DEEP (real name Sibusiso Malevu) is a South African house DJ, producer and label owner who has worked with a several luminaries including Bruno Soares Sax(Portugal), Soweto Underground, Exquizite, Javaman, Muzaic, King Todli, DJ Zwe, Gumba Faya, BGK Boys, DJ Bigza Biggy B, Boom Shaakers & Tebza TG to mention a few.
He started out as a Kwaito artist, song writer & producer. He gained a lot of exposure in the South African Music industry in 2006 with a Kwaito hit single that became a huge song in Soweto that is entitled "NATHULA NJE" where he Sampled SA's legend & best-selling Kwaito musician "MZEKEZEKE". In 2007 there was an unexpected twist on when he felt in love and started doing collecting a few records of house music and late started producing his own music. He was motivated by the house legends like DJ Fresh, Oskido, Vinni Da Vinci, DJ Christos, DJ Mbuso, Ralf Gum, DJ Sbu, Rocco and Black Coffee who played a major role in his production skills.
He started Deejaying in 2008 with a Pentum 2 PC using softwares like Automix Virtual DJ Studio & Traktor for the 21st birthdays, Wedding and Stokvels and started using CDJs 2009. He has shared a set with top DJs like Christos, Fresca, Mgedeza, Qothu, Kwanele & Zwe. He has played it top venues like Lesedi Fm Radio(SABC), Jozi fm Radio, Disoufeng Pub, The Zone Pub, Tinties & Razzmataz just to mention a few.
He started his own recording label "Real Purple Deep Music Pty Ltd" in 2010 which is has created a big platform that is promoting the new and upcoming talent in S.A. He later worked on a soundtrack for the South African short film called THE BRAVE and he was even recognized by SA BPM Magazine with the EP titled Sana that was released by another record label for the best EP of the month. In 2013 he released his 2nd EP Titled RISE AND SHINE in his own label where he featured Bruno Soares Sax who is the best Saxophone player in Portugal. 2014 brought another powerful Real Purple De release "Savannah Dance Real Purple Deep's Afro Chillout Remix" buy Lez Moral & Robza, which was used as SABC's Music, Fashion & Entertainment television show "SELIMATHUNZI"soundtrack and it is was also included in House Africa Unmixed Vol2 double CD compilation.
He later released a compilation CD titled HOME GROWN PRODUCTION Vol.1 under his label and he managed to sell more than 200 copies so far, all by himself. He received the award for best house single for Dejavu at the 2014 SOUMA Awards (South African Upcoming Music Awards).
