Born in Malamulele, a vibrant town nestled in Limpopo, South Africa, Fumani Mahlale, widely known as Echo12, is a visionary House DJ, producer, and innovator shaping the future of African music. Drawing inspiration from icons like Black Coffee, Boddhi Satva, Atjazz, and Djeff, Echo12 blends tribal rhythms, Afro-house melodies, and deep musical atmospheres to craft a signature sound as rooted in the African soil as the iconic baobab trees of his homeland.

Echo12's journey into music began at 16, spurred by his father, a sound company entrepreneur and early mentor. His breakout moment came during a surprise debut performance at a local festival—a milestone that marked the beginning of a career filled with rhythm, resilience, and innovation. Known affectionately as "Echo" for the lasting impression of his performances, he later adopted "12inch" as a tribute to his love for vinyl and a late friend who nicknamed him after the iconic format.

In 2010, Echo12 founded 12inch Entertainment, a platform for nurturing authentic Afro-house artistry. Through this label, he has collaborated with globally acclaimed artists like Mr. Mo, Zepherin Saint, and Tronix Deep, releasing tracks that resonate on international dance floors and airwaves. His music has earned licensing deals with Soul Candi Records and Tribe Records, showcasing his ability to deliver both emotionally rich soundscapes and dance-ready beats.

Today, Echo12 is more than a producer—he is a builder of legacies.
