Artist
FIMIANI
FIMIANI Combining the original NYC house sound from the 1990ies with the best of Italian Disco history. Turning it all into a very contemporary flow of afro-american and Italian music based on funk, soul, melodies and rhythm.
Just listen to his 2 EPs he did on Toy Tonics and you understand. All played live with musicans (no samples) - this sounds like the best organic house tracks you can get at the moment. His track "Disco Music" is a hit. Played by DJs like Palms Trax, Folamour, Louie Vega of Masters at Work, Horse Meat Disco, Seth Troxler and many others.
Fimiani comes from the region of Napoli, (the island called Ischia). He started doing edits af rare italian records under the name of BPLAN.
Then turned into a skilled producer of his own music on Toy Tonics. He knows the dance music history and is deeply inspired by the Italian house scene from the mid 1980ies/ 1990ies and the New York dance sounds.
People who know the history of dance music will be aware that house music is an Italo-American "invention". Italians created the early electronic dance music that later was called Italo disco. These sounds were big part of inspiration for many (American) dance music producers of the 1980ies and 90ies that later did "House music". Fimiani knows about all this and combines these 2 worlds into his music.
Check also FIMIANI's edits of extremely rare Italian disco on his own imprint Caffè Corretto. Under the name BPLAN.
