SUSAN ESTHERA

The foundation for Susan Esthera's love of dance music was laid early as she grew up in the Boston area on a steady diet of disco and freestyle.
Susan found a home in Boston's underground house scene in the early 90s. Hooked on the challenges of beat-matching and track selection, Susan began sharpening her skills on the turntables, and her record shopping adventures led to her discovery of the funky breaks sound, its freestyle influences bringing her full circle from her youth.
Performing as DJ Lil' Sue, Susan landed her first gigs in the late 90s. Traveling and playing gigs while gaining experience but also exposure to many different sounds, which led to her incorporating trance, hard house, and even drum & bass into her sets.
Susan spent the 2000s spinning in Boston-area nightclubs up to five nights a week, landing residencies at noteworthy venues, and winning numerous "Best of Boston" awards along the way.
In the 2010s Susan focused her attention into managing a popular Boston club for nine years until resigning in 2019. "I took a small break from nightlife to refocus my attention back on the music and culture that started it all for me," she explains.
When listening to Susan's music you can expect to hear Afro, Soulful, and Deep House centered on driving percussion and emotional vocals.
