MAC SKINNER

It was at the age of 7 when Mac Skinner first got introduced to the gateway of electronic music through an Alan Parsons album. Growing up in a house full of records and access to a family friend's studio (where he learned about sampling and drum machines), it was an event at the LA Civic Center featuring Doc Martin that solidified Mac's passion for electronic music. It became inevitable that Mac would go on to pursue an education following his passion and he received his degree from Sonoma State University in Music with an emphasis on Recording Arts. While attending college, he found a mentor who taught him how to DJ and mix records. He soon became a fixture in the Bay Area in the 90s as he mingled with some of the crews that helped build the Bay Area electronic music scene. For the last two decades Skinner has run, promoted and produced various clubs and events, helped some of the big production companies in North Bay and recorded bands and solo artists as a producer and recording engineer. In 2020 Mac created his own record label, Purifide Records, and has released tracks on HMNI Music, LTHM, and Blueprints Recordings.
