LUKE WHEELER

From an early age hearing House music and other genres flowing through the home, Luke knew that music was his calling.

The early days of watching his father DJ around the UK and from his love of music cemented of what was to come.

Wheeler took his first love of Drum & Bass out into the world and honed his skills and repertoire. Luke was soon approached by some key players in the house music scene around his hometown of Peterborough. With plaudits building the aim was to release his own material and with a fusion of D&B and house, sprinkled with some two-step styles.

A move to London in 2014 has since seen his rise with both ‘Make Ya Booty Go’ and ‘Follow Me’ attracting both audience approval and label interest from Toe To Toe Records releasing both tracks as part of his debut EP ‘The Stepping Stones’ in June 2015 under the alias of Forte.

His first gig in the capital at Kona Kai in Fulham was met with rave reviews and has since gone on to play at other various venues such as Lightbox and McQueens.

Later that same year he had a free release on Fracture Recordings with ‘Gonna Give It To Ya’ which has gone on to clock several thousand plays on SoundCloud. He also featured on Fracture’s first compilation album, 'This Is Fracture’ with his summer anthem 'Be The One’.

January 2016 saw the release of his debut EP on Fracture with 'The Other Side’.

Luke has since decided to now use his full name and has dived into the Tech House scene, changing his production style with it focusing more on the rhythm and groove with the dance floor in mind.

2017 has already seen single releases on M1 Recordings with 'Once Again' and 'I Get It' on Hedonistic Records. With future releases lined up with In You Records and Beat Culture Records in the coming months and securing a residency for Lightbox's Thursday night event, Lights On, 2017 is looking to be a good year for the 23 year-old.
