Valerio Fella AKA Rioleval brings a blend of lofi, jazzy, soulful vibes with a deep texture and added minimal elements to create his own unique rich sounds that meander from downtempo through to pulsing uplifting momentum. This progression and multiple genre influences is what makes his productions and DJ sets an immersive and engaging journey, each one a different experience.
Fascination with his older brother's electronic music cassette tapes firmly set the pathway into a deeper passion for music. These influences would be genres like hardcore, jungle, raw (NYC) hip hop and house music coming out of Ibiza and America in the mid to late 90's.
From cassette mix-tape creations at the age of eight, to self taught on belt-drive turntables by the age of 15, the passion was irreversibly in place, with vinyl collection leading onto professional bookings in his hometown of Cambridge by the time he had turned 20. A break in DJing came with travelling the world for a few years, but this only added to Rioleval's wide knowledge and love of various music genres, and upon his return to the UK the next chapter commenced with delving into and quickly mastering his own unique style of production.
Lockdown proved to be a focused period for Rioleval with 17 releases in a two year stretch, releasing independently on Bandcamp as well as with the established record label SoSure Music. The engagement of his music productions
is shown in over 180,000 regular monthly listeners on Spotify as an example, and over six million streams on Spotify alone to date. The tracks 'Improvise At Noon', 'TeeBee03', 'Reminisce Avenue' and 'Moodswing' are currently attracting the most attention, with the latter being the latest release on SoSure Music (April 2023).
Rioleval is the rare breed of producer who self-releases with such consistency and frequency that you will see a new track out on a monthly basis, with the extremely important facet of not losing anything in quality. He is not doing it for algorithms, he is doing it for unwavering solid passion and positive creative output, which is also proved in his dedication to his current three-space studio build project.
