NEUQUéN GROOVE

Between downtown Budapest and the east side blocks of Berlin, from the Patagonian steps of Chile to the green hills of the South of France, Neuquén Groove is a sound to be experienced. Using traditional instrumentation, world percussions, soundscapes and electronic beats, Neuquen offers a wild mix between modern electronica and ancient rhythms from varied corners of the world.

The members of Neuquén met through their passion for global sounds and instruments, as well as the longing for creating something new and fresh. They put emphasis on making a vibrant, dynamical live show to get their audiences dancing. Each song creates mysterious crossroads between Balkan, African, Asian and South American vibes.

Playing an array of instruments, the five souls of Neuquén Groove are Steven (syntheziers, tablas, irish bouzoki); Thom (electro drums, charango, berimbau, theremin); Antonia Vai (vocals, looper pedal); Gigi (guitar, saz, banjo, dulcimer); Yael (trumpet, percussions).

Born in 2018 during and after Festival Nomade in Chile, the fusion of Fanfara Electronica (France) and Pasaje Universo (Brasil) gave birth to Neuquén Groove Project. Jamming and making music together came naturally, as the band began producing their first clip and songs in Santiago de Chile after only a few weeks together.
