MENA (IT)

Marco aka Dj Mena, was born in 1974 in Lecco with a talent for drawing and painting. From the age of 14 he started playing with his band called Ameba, a mixture of electronic and rock styles. In '97 is co-founder of Mother inc. one of the more influent drum and bass & dub step crew in Italy. In 98 starts "Inner Vibes" on Radio Network 104 and Lifegate which aimed to spread the new sounds coming from the European club scene. Given his propensity to the jazzy way of approach on music, during his sets he starts from nu jazz broken beat and samba jazz from the 40's and get sung the most current deep-house and tech-house releases, revealing a very eclectic style that looks to the dancefloor as hear the floor. He plays usually with three plates one of which is used as a sampler.

He is used to play live in combo with live musicians as TheMosfet.

With Mother inc. has played with Roni Size, Dealers of Nordic Music, D'Malicious, with Borg and Forss (Sonar Kollektiv), Hird & Yukimi Nagano (DNM - Compost), Plej (Exceptional), Quant (Hollow recordings), Parov Stelar (stage noir), Crookers (Defected), Steve Aoki (Mac Mac), Congorock, Bart B More, Netsky, DVBBS, Shy FX , Rocoe, and some of the best Italian djs. He played in many clubs in Italy, like Maffia, Magnolia, Pergola, in clubs in Germany, Switzerland, Japan like Soft & Yellow club in Tokyo, Kulturhuset in Stuttgart, Konstfack, Club World and Bacci in Stockholm, Up und framat in Gothenburg. And at some events such as the Street Parade of Bologna, Reset, le torte fatte in casa, Salone del Mobile in Milan, Mix-id in Bergamo.

He's one of the main founders of Nameless the biggest Electronic festival in Italy.
