PROFILE

I, KOIN (Bonginkosi Sakhile Madalani) am World Class Entertainer, Entrepreneur, born in Soweto and has studied Sound Technology at Central Johannesburg College. I began my music career at school as a member of the school choir, I then joined a church that was very musical which featured the likes of Margret Motsage, Vicky Vilakazi as its members.
I formed a group with friends and called ourselves B’livit’O Not and they we became professional in 1996 when we were signed by Polygram Records which today is Universal Music.
I then moved to work for Word of Mouth Productions, which produced Television Programs such as Muvhango, Soul City and Mponeng.
I registered my own company in 2006 which offered transport services, and expanded to distributing maize meal, and also ventured into entertainment by opening a record label.

CURRENT
Koin has a new Online EP title Flip the Koin.
It’s a three-track EP with Singles like Shukuma(Kung Fu Banger), From My Heart and Hit It Tonight.
Shukuma (Kung Fu Banger) it features the Mask DJz
This EP has blended a few sounds to produce the kind of music guaranteed to get it lit.
Koin makes sure he is always original, contemporary and razor-sharp.
Flip the Koin embodies the classic kwaito sound, funky house rhythms and pop beats.

DEBUT
•Debut solo act as KOIN was an exciting EP (Entertainment Preacher) in 2015, full of energy, and has blended different genres.
•KOIN,"is feel good music, with party anthems, and turn up sound"
•He produced the music himself, Bacca and Face.
•The EP features Face and Noma.
•Koin Muziek is a fusion of different sounds from EDM, Pop and House.
•KOIN has been received well by the public, through performances (delivering electrifying performances).
•KOIN has shared stage performances with the likes of Magesh, DJ Christos, Oskido, Vetkoek/Mahoota, Sipho Hotstix Mabuse, and many more.

HISTORY
•In 1996 he was part of a group B’livit O’ Not and released a DEBUT album "Beyond Belief" with Polygram (Universal).
•The group had a single that was receiving airplay from USA "Socialize" which they co-produced with former Soul to Soul keyboardist Nick Heaton
•In 1999 they released a SECOND album titled "Until you Believe" with Scorpio Music.
•The album boasts a number 1 hit single in Scandinavia with "Shona Le"
•The song "Don't you know" from the second album, produced by Sipho Mbele , was featured in a World Children Fund album with the likes of Michael Jackson, Desree, Elton John and many more.
•In 2007 Bonginkosi formed another group Mfazi Wephepha and released an Afro-jazz album with a friend Daniel Nakedi, under his own record label which featured the likes of Bheki Khoza, Concord Nkabinde, Mandla Zikalala, Louis Mhlanga and Nkanyezi Cele and they performed before the then President of South Africa, Honourable Thabo Mbeki.
•2010 KOIN was part of Soweto Spiritual Singers when they shared a stage with R KELLY at an opening of 2010 FIFA World Cup.

PERFORMANCES AND MEDIA DURING
•Performances - in 1997 they performed alongside of Boom Shaka, Bongo Maffin, Trompies and Thebe, Abashante, Arthur, Alaska, Skeem, Brenda Fassie and Hugh Masekela
•In 2007 toured the country, and they have shared stages with likes of Stimela, Joe Nina, Zamajobe, L Vovo, Thembisile, and Malaika.
•Media Coverage 1997-2009 the following magazines& newspapers printed exciting articles of the group. The public response was great as indicated in their radio & TV interviews.

•Radio & TV Promotions – they we interviewed in the nation’s top radio stations, Metro FM, Y-FM, Ukhozi FM, Umhlobo Wonene FM, Lesedi FM, 5 FM, and the community radio stations
•They were interviewed on these popular youth TV shows, Studio Mix, Electric Work
