BADAINA

Badaina is DJ and producer who moved to Calgary from Northern Alberta at the age of 6. Daina joined Voxbox Studios where she learned the art of djing in 2010, and has been playing at nightclubs, pubs, events and establishments all over the city since.

Daina has been heavily influenced by music since a young age and is inspired by the likes of Darius Syrossian, Hector Couto, Mark Farina, Saeed Younan, Seth Troxler, Yousef, and many others. She has been playing at many nightclubs around the city including (but not limited to) Habitat Living Sound, Republik, Hifi and Commonwealth, with a weekly residency with Voxbox Studios called 'Friday Night Groove School' at Republik.

Daina's passion for soulful melodies and solid grooves and REAL HOUSE MUSIC is very apparent at her live shows where she never fails to deliver rhythmic vibes and rolling basslines that keep crowds coming together for a night of musical release and non-stop dancing. Daina's first EP with Jake-Tech was released in early 2016 on LB recordings with remixes on Fett Recordings.

Having played alongside various artists such as Collette, DJ Heather, DJ Dan, The Funk Hunters, Smalltown DJ's, and many local artists, Daina's name and reputation are becoming widely recognized around the city as an up and coming artist to watch out for.
